What is FUREAI?
October 01, 2009"Fureai" is a Japanese term that refers to the emotional connections between different types of people within the same community. It is composed of the two words "fure" (meaning to touch) and "ai" (a sign to show mutuality), thus "fureai" literally translates to "mutual touch".
Jake's Fureai Tour in Japan is an expansion of Music is Good Medicine where he still gives the MIGM message but also promotes the magic of the islands of Hawaii. Jake uses it as a form of culture exchange and talks about Hawaii's culture, language, and geography and constantly encourages people to come visit these islands - "Hawaii ni kite kudasai" (please come to Hawaii). Jake has been an admirable ambassador representing Hawaii to Japan.
