If everyone played the ukulele the world would be a better place

Music is Good Medicine

Thornton Creek School, Seattle WA

March 12, 2010

Music is Good Medicine visited Thornton Creek Elementary school, part of the public school system in North East Seattle. Jake spoke to a hall of enthusiastic kids, some of whom are taking an ukulele class in school.

Jake spoke to the kids about his passion in playing the uke and how he as a child turned his rambunctious energy into focus on music. He encouraged the kids to find their passion in whatever avenue most rang true with their heart. “If you follow three rules you will be successful,” Jake continued, “ Work hard, stay drug free and have fun”

The kids clapped along and everyone chimed in to sing happy birthday to one of their classmates. Another great event, Jake said “I felt like we really connecting with these kids, they had such a creative spark already in them”.
