If everyone played the ukulele the world would be a better place

Saipan International School - Saipan

March 17, 2008

Jake took an excursion off the Hawaiian islands and internationally to the islands of Saipan.  The people of Saipan welcomed Jake with open arms and some even greeted him at the airport as soon as he got off the plane.  Jake’s journey led him to Saipan International School, where the students were so enthralled to have Jake in their presence.

A warm thank you to Jon Delight for arranging this visit.  This small school currently has a population of 200 students with grades ranging from preschool through 12th grade.  Jake led an assembly for only about 50-70 kindergarten students in their school library.  He entertained the students with various songs on his ukulele and his dazzling playing mesmerized the children.

Jake also taught them the meaning of having a passion and following their dreams to be whatever their hearts desire.  This connects to Saipan International School’s motto, “Helping each child reach his or her full potential by providing a positive environment that fosters academic, emotional, and social growth.”  Jake left such an impact on the people of Saipan that some showed up at the airport once again to say a farewell to Jake.  Again, thank you Jon for this great adventure!
