If everyone played the ukulele the world would be a better place

Music is Good Medicine

Mai Tai Bar - Oahu, Hawaii

December 01, 2009

Mai Tai Bars all across the globe celebrate one of the greatest band competitions of the year: Mai Tai Rumble. Mai Tai Bar is committed to finding, promoting, and enjoying the best local music from musicians who understand that great music required artistry, passion, commitment and work. The Rumble is all about helping the best local bands take their sounds to a wider audience and give them the opportunity to be heard by those who can help.

The Mai Tai Bar at Ala Moana Shopping Center presented their 9th annual “Mai Tai Rumble” where Island Contemporary musicians were selected to compete for cash and prizes and the opportunity to play at Hawaii’s best live entertainment venue. Mai Tai Bar felt strongly about MIGM’s mission and wanted to contribute in some way. This event lasted for over two months from September 29- December 1st and during this period the Mai Tai Bar kindly offered to sell various types of stickers with all proceeds going to Music is Good Medicine. For the finalist’s competition on December 1st, Jake appeared as a guest judge and played a few tunes. Jake busted out his looping machine and played “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” and it was awesome! The audience was absolutely amazed how Jake can rock out to his solo ukulele. Congratulations to all competitors and mahalo to Mai Tai Bar for your support of MIGM!
