If everyone played the ukulele the world would be a better place

Music is Good Medicine

Ma’ema’e Elementary School - Oahu, HI

December 07, 2010

It’s that time of year again! This past week the students of Ma’ema’e Elementary School put on a Christmas performance to celebrate this wonderful time of year.

First up were the lively 2nd graders. They sang traditional Christmas songs, such as: “Jingle Bells,” “Frosty the Snowman,” and “Santa Clause is coming to Town.” The students were so enthusiastic and with Jake jamming along with them, it got everyone into the Christmas spirit.

Next were the talented 5th grade students. They marched in, appropriately adorned in their festive Santa hats, reindeer antlers, tinsel lei’s and full of Christmas cheer.

The students performed number of songs including the “Feliz Navidad” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” Some of the students even got to play ukulele and piano with the band.

Jake and the MIGM team were glad to have attended such a fun and festive event. Special thanks to Cody Okimoto for coordinating this event. All photos taken by: Brian Takeuchi, Marge Yoshioka, and Charlie Takeuchi.
