Honolulu Marathon Expo - Oahu, Hawaii
December 11, 2009The 37th annual Honolulu Marathon pumped and prepared the runners by holding their traditional Honolulu Marathon Expo! The expo features various vendors who all have the similar goal of encouraging runners to do their best and stay to healthy! From December 11th-12th Music is Good Medicine manned a booth at the Honolulu Marathon Expo handing out pamphlets, selling merchandise, and even performances on each
day by Jake himself!
On the first day Jake played a morning performance and the second day included a noon performance. On both days, Jake’s captivating melody lured in the public as the crowd would grow bigger and bigger and soon there was limited standing room. The audience busted out their cameras and phones to capture this amazing performance where Jake played a new and untitled song!
After the performance, fans were lined up waiting for the opportunity to snap a picture with Jake and get his autograph. At our booth, we also sold our dazzling jewelry made of Jake’s past ukulele strings with all proceeds going towards MIGM.
Jake also supported the Marathon by playing at the Marathon Luau and finishing line as the racers cross the line in relief with soothing ukulele music waiting for them. Jake is a long supporter of the Marathon because it encourages a healthy lifestyle by keeping active and is filled with passion. It takes so much dedication to train for an event such as this and the passion for running these athletes have is just what Music is Good Medicine encourages! Thank you so much to our wonderful volunteers who were a tremendous help and graciously took the time to help out at our booth. And mahalo for those of you who stopped by and we look forward to seeing you next year!
