If everyone played the ukulele the world would be a better place

When we initially approached the MIGM program to have Jake come to the Hawaii State Library, we had read about what he was doing in the schools to inspire kids to live good, healthy lives.  We thought it would also be a good idea for our library patrons, with New Year's resolutions fresh in their minds, to hear his message about music being a positive, transformative influence in people's lives.  At first we anticipated that 60 to 100 people would attend, but by the end of the program we counted 416 (including people on the "balcony" overlooking the Lobby.)  From the survey we passed out at the end of the presentation, all of the respondents thought it was a great experience and many said they were inspired to learn to play the ukulele themselves and some wondered if the library could arrange to have classes!  (We can refer them to instructors in the community, if they are serious.)

Thank you again for coming to the Hawaii State Library with this truly inspiring program.
