Friends of Kehau Aloha Jam Benefit
http://www.friendsofkehausullivan.com
Friends of Kehau Sullivan are delighted to collaborate with ‘Music is Good Medicine’ represented by Jake Shimabukuro, with its mission: to use the power of music to heal, influence and inspire people to improve our community, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and pursue their dreams with a positive attitude.
Kehau is the youngest daughter of North Shore surfer Pancho Sullivan, who was born with a congenital heart condition that required surgery less than 24 hours after her birth. The medical requirements including at least 4 additional surgeries for Baby Kehau has the Sullivan family faced with an out-of-pocket cost of at least $150,000 after insurance payments.

Shimabukuro shares passion for playing
A month ago, Hawai'i 'ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro performed the Beatles classic "In My Life" alongside Bette Midler for Queen Elizabeth II at the prestigious Royal Variety Performance in Blackpool, England, a show that also included actress-comedian Whoopi Goldberg, singer Michael Buble and tween star Miley Cyrus.
And what was good enough for the queen — and Bette, Whoopi and Miley — proved good enough for hundreds of Hawai'i State Library patrons yesterday as Shimabukuro played a free 45-minute set, heavy on Beatles covers, and shared his views on music, passion and personal expression in support of the Music is Good Medicine community outreach program.
