John G. Shedd - Eugene, OR

Just after the show in Chico we hit to road for Eugene, Oregon. One crazy thing about this tour leg is that we have so many shows back to back. So it's going to be a grueling travel situation. Getting in at 2 or 3 am, leaving at 10 or 11 am. Making 5-7 hour drives during the day. Nutty! At least we have a few drivers (myself and Mark) to make the transitions much easier. So we made the halfway point to Mt. Shasta to stay for the night.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. - Chico, CA

As Bruce Buffer might say at the start of a Live UFC event....It's Time! Oh yes, back on the road, back on tour, and back in love with the music. My only regret this time is that my stay is too dang short! But we will make the best of this mini run through California and bring everyone a little taste of Jake as each day passes.

Stevenson Middle School - Oahu, Hawaii

We had another school visit today! I joined Jake and Yukari at Stevenson Middle School at 7:50 am.  We met Wendy who is the student activities coordinator. She took us to the cafeteria where the presentation was scheduled to take place. Wendy was clearly excited about having Jake at the school. We were surprised that their cafeteria was quite large with a nice big stage.

Big Island of Hawaii - Kahilu Theatre

Anyone know why they call it the Big Island? Answer.....cuz its BIG! Today we are heading over to the Kona side of the Big Island for a few school visits and performances. Kona Coast is where all the super classy resorts are located. The coast is lined with volcanic rock and grassy planes, it's quite different from any other island in the chain. The opposite side of Kona, Hilo, is rich in tropics and jungle...and is where all the active volcanoes are. So it's safe to say that the B.I. (as locals call it) is full of adventure.

Kauai - Kula Jams Fundraiser

Jake and I departed the band and Yukari to head over to Kauai for a fundraiser. If you have yet to visit Kauai, it's a must! It is referred to as "The Garden Island" because it is so tropical and lush. Today Jake is party of a fundraiser for a private school on Kauai. The event is called Kula Jams and will include Jake and Donavon Frankenreiter. Donavon and Jake have performed together a few times, and are good friends. If you have yet to hear Donavon's music, its a MUST. I think he has some of the most upbeat and good feeling music...it just makes you smile.
